Job summary

Finning International Inc. in Fort McMurray, AB, is seeking a Heavy Duty Field Mechanic to support our customers in the Oil Sands. You will troubleshoot, repair and maintain Caterpillar mining equipment and perform field diagnosis and running repairs on-site.

The role includes large-scale overhauls, component replacements and daily use of CAT SIS and ET. Strong troubleshooting skills and a valid driver's license with clean abstract are required, with night shifts and premiums as applicable.

Qualifications

• Journeyperson HET certification required.
• Experience as Heavy Equipment Technician.
• Strong field troubleshooting on Caterpillar mining product line.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot, repair and maintain Caterpillar mining equipment in the field.
• Perform field diagnosis and running repairs.
• Carry out large-scale overhauls and rebuilds; perform component replacements.
• Utilize Caterpillar SIS and ET daily.
• Complete service reports, warranty and crossover notes.
• Interact with customers, sales support and Finning team.
