Job summary

FLOFORM Countertops seeks a Full Time Material Handler for our Abbotsford stone plant. The role includes shipping, receiving, loading, transporting, inspecting and packaging stone tops and slabs in a busy yard and shop.

Responsibilities

• Inspects tops and slabs, interpreting drawings for quality and specifications.
• Loads and packages countertops onto shipping frames with proper protection and piece counts.
• Receives inbound raw materials (slabs) with accurate receiving transactions and labeling.
• Transports materials through yard/shop, ensuring proper inventory storage.
• Uses computer systems to update orders and inventory, locate job information and track progress.
• Coordinates shipments with carriers and plans shipment sizes.
• Maintains forklifts and handling equipment, including daily inspections and maintenance.
• Follows supervisor schedules and maintains a safe, organized work area.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Required immediately, our Local Abbotsford Branch is seeking a Full Time Material Handler for our Stone Plant. Position Summary

Material Handlers in our Stone Division are responsible for a variety of tasks related to hard surface manufacturing, including shipping, receiving, loading, transporting, inspecting and packaging stone tops and slabs. The position requires the safe and efficient use of mechanical lifts and forklifts, often moving materials through a busy yard and shop environment. Maintaining safe working areas and an organized yard is a critical requirement in this role.

Duties & Responsibilities

• Inspects tops and slabs, interpreting technical drawings for required quality and specifications
• Loading and packaging countertops onto shipping frames, ensuring proper protection and accurate piece counts
• Receives inbound raw materials (slabs), ensuring accurate receiving transactions and inventory labelling
• Transports materials through busy shop and yard environment, ensuring proper inventory storage
• Utilizes computer systems to update order status and inventory transactions, locate job information and mark progress
• Coordinates shipments with carriers, planning shipment sizes and trucking requirements
• Inspect and maintains forklifts and material handling equipment in safe and good working condition, including daily pre-trip inspections and basic maintenance items
• Executes daily work instructions and follows schedule received from Supervisor in a timely manner
• Maintains a safe and organized work area, supporting housekeeping requirements
• Other duties as assigned
