Job summary

FLOFORM Countertops in Winnipeg, MB is seeking a Long-Haul LTL Truck Driver to transport countertops across Canada. This role requires a Class 1 CDL, forklift certification, and extensive long-haul experience, including flatbed work.

You will follow routes, maintain schedules, and ensure safety and compliance on all trips. The ideal candidate will have 5 years long-haul experience, 1 year with step deck or flatbed freight, a clean driving record, and ability to work in winter conditions.

Qualifications

• Must hold a Class 1 commercial driver's license.
• Forklift certification is required upon hire.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 5 years of long-haul driving experience.
• 1 year of experience with step deck, double drop or flatbed freight.
• Knowledge of highway and road regulations.
• Valid work permit.
• Basic math skills.
• Ability to lift 100 lbs with assistance.
• Able to drive long, extended periods.
• Clean driving record and clear background check.
• Comfortable driving in winter conditions.

Responsibilities

• Safely operates flatbed/semi-truck to transport countertops in a long-haul setting.
• Follows set trip route and reports location as required.
• Sets route schedules and maintains them.
• Safely operates a forklift and obtains certification.
• Loads and unloads cargo.
• Records cargo deliveries and turnover to supervisor.
• Refuels and cleans vehicle to maintain maintenance standards.
• Reports road incidents to supervisor.
• Follows traffic laws and accident procedures.
• Maintains all trip paperwork and logs.
• Reports mechanical problems to maintenance staff.
• Plans routes using GPS system.
• Maintains positive attitude with customers and staff.
• Commercial driver’s license must be kept up to date.
• Regular out-of-town and overnight travel across Canada.

Position Summary

Our Long-Haul LTL Driver is responsible for transporting LTL goods to and from branches and suppliers in accordance with their set route in Canada.

Desired Skills & Experience

• Must have and maintainCurrent Class 1 commercial driver's license
• Forklift certification upon hire
• High School Diploma or equivalency
• 5 years experience of long-haul driving
• 1 year of experience with step deck, double drop or flatbed freight required
• Knowledge of highway and road regulations
• Valid work permit

• Must have a clean driving record and a clear criminal record
• Must be comfortable driving in winter conditions

• Follows accident procedures if necessary
• Maintains all paperwork associated with trips and turnover to supervisor at end of shift
• Reports mechanical problems to maintenance personnel
• Plans routes using GPS system
• Maintains a positive attitude with customers both internal and external
• Commercial driver’s license must be kept up to date at all times
• Regular out-of-town and overnight travel throughout Canada
• Other duties as assigned
