Job summary

1060 Suncor Energy Products Partnership is seeking a Laboratory Technician for our Montréal refinery. You will perform critical testing and analysis of refinery products, operate specialized lab equipment, and support safe, efficient operations across the site.

This is a unionized, shift-based, office-based role in Montreal. The position emphasizes analytical work, quality control, and strict safety standards within a fast-paced industrial environment.

Qualifications

• One to three years of relevant experience in a quality control laboratory in the petrochemical sector or with a chemical process DEC in Analytical Chemistry or a Bachelor's degree in Chemistry.
• Knowledge of IT data management systems.
• Excellent ability to communicate in French, both orally and in writing.
• A valid driver's licence and a clean driving record.

Responsibilities

• Work in the different sections of the laboratory and operate equipment to analyze intermediate and finished refinery products.
• Conduct sampling of refinery intermediate and finished product tanks.
• Save samples in the LMMS system.
• Perform equipment calibration.
• Participate in firefighting training and be a member of the fire team on shifts.
• Participate in health and safety meetings.
• All other tasks contributing to proper laboratory operations.

• One to three years of relevant experience in a quality control laboratory in the petrochemical industrial sector or in a chemical process DEC in Analytical Chemistry or Bachelor's degree in Chemistry
• Knowledge of IT data management systems
• Excellent ability to communicate in French, both orally and in writing
• A valid driver's licence and a clean driving record

• Work in the different sections of the laboratory and various equipment such as distiller, flash point, density meter, viscometer, titrator, sulfur analyzer and many others in order to analyze all our intermediate and finished products
• Conduct sampling of the refinery's intermediate and finished product tanks
• Saving samples in the LMMS system
• Perform equipment calibration
• Participate in firefighting training and be a member of the fire team on shifts
• Participate in health and safety meetings
• All other tasks contributing to the proper functioning of the laboratory's operations
