Job summary

Fluid Life in Edmonton, AB is seeking a Laboratory Technician for an entry-level role handling used oil, fuel and coolant analyses in a modern lab.

The position is full-time, Monday to Friday 9:00 am–5:30 pm with a rotating Saturday shift every four weeks. Join a team of lab staff focused on accurate testing and timely results.

Qualifications

  • Demonstrated ability to multi-task across sample types and methods.
  • Strong analytical skills to interpret results and maintain QC.
  • Proficient with MS-Windows and general computer tasks.

Responsibilities

  • Perform testing on used oils, coolants and fuels according to ASTM, ISO and in-house methods.
  • Load analytical instruments and auto samplers; perform basic equipment maintenance.
  • Transfer results accurately, perform data entry and manage lab supplies.
  • Contribute to turnaround time goals and high-quality lab testing.
  • Ensure samples pass QC standards and run QC/blank samples.

About the role
  • Fluid Life is seeking a Laboratory Technician to join our team in Edmonton, AB. This is an exciting entry level opportunity perform routine and advanced analysis on used oil, fuel and coolant samples in a lab in Edmonton, AB.
  • This is a permanent full-time position with working hours of Monday to Friday 9:00 am to 5:30 pm. with a Saturday shift rotation every 4 weeks.
  • You will be joining a team of lab staff working together to complete the analysis of samples received in the laboratory.
What you'll do
  • Perform testing on used oils, coolants, and fuels according to ASTM, ISO and in-house methods.
  • Be responsible for loading analytical instruments and auto samplers, as well as basic equipment maintenance.
  • Be able to transfer results accurately, perform data entry and identify lab supplies in need of restock.
  • Be accountable for your contribution to achieving turnaround time goals and quality lab testing.
  • Be committed to producing quality results by ensuring samples pass QC standards and running QC/ blank samples.
Qualifications
  • Possession of a BSc. Chemistry degree or Chemical Technology Diploma
  • Ability to multi-task
  • Strong work ethic
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Good Computer skills and knowledge of a MS-Windows platform
