Job summary

Suncor Energy in North York, Ontario is seeking a Terminal Operator to manage fuel movements, receive product into tanks, transfer product between tanks, and prepare equipment for maintenance.

This safety-sensitive role requires 12-hour rotating day and night shifts, outdoor work, and adherence to PPE and procedures. A strong emphasis on safety culture and continuous improvement complements on-the-job training and certifications.

Qualifications

• Two years of relative experience, preferably in operations or maintenance.
• High School Diploma or GED.
• Familiar with computer logging systems.

Responsibilities

• Support terminal operation to improve safety culture and performance.
• Manage fuel material by receiving product into tanks and transferring between tanks.
• Conduct preventative maintenance on tank storage and loading equipment.
• Conduct sampling and testing as per schedule or for quality issues.
• Maintain competencies by updating procedures and certifications.

Minimum Requirements:

• Minimum of two years of relative experience, preferably in operations and/or maintenance
• A High School Diploma or General Education Diploma (GED)
• Familiar using computer logging systems

Responsibilities:

• Show your dedication and support the terminal operation to improve our safety culture and overall safety performance
• Manage fuel material by receiving product into tanks via pipeline and truck, transferring product from tank to tank, and draining and preparing equipment for maintenance
• Conduct preventative maintenance on tank storage and loading equipment
• Conduct sampling and testing as per the schedule or when required due to quality issues
• Maintain competencies by reading and understanding new procedures or relevant changes to the manuals and documentation, and ensure regulatory training and certifications are up to date

Location and other Key Details:

You will work out of our Metro Depot office, located at 1138 Finch Ave W, North York, Ontario The shift schedule consists of rotating days and nights; working on 12-hour shifts This position is safety sensitive You will be required to perform all essential physical aspects and responsibilities of the role with the mechanical aptitude to capably handle the operation of terminal equipment and maintenance in an all-weather outdoor environment while wearing appropriate personal protective equipment
