Job summary

AGAT Laboratories is seeking a capable laboratory professional to join its team in Calgary. You will perform basic procedures, prepare samples, calibrate and troubleshoot instruments, and ensure data accuracy in a fast-paced environment.

The role requires a science degree or diploma, 2+ years of lab experience, familiarity with lab processes, and good English communication.GC/MS or GC/FID experience is an asset, with solid computer skills to support data handling.

Qualifications

• Post-secondary education with a degree or diploma in Science.
• 2+ years’ laboratory experience and basic laboratory skills, along with familiarity with lab processes.
• Experience using GC/MS or GC/FID instrumentation is an asset.
• Fluent in English, both written and verbally communication.
• Intermediate computer skills.
• Ability to work in a positive manner in a fast paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Perform basic laboratory procedures including preparation of samples, reagents and calibration solutions.
• Provide general lab support including washing glassware, cleaning work stations and waste disposal.
• Calibrate, operate, maintain and troubleshoot intermediate instruments
• Compile, verify and validate accurate data records
• Meet quality assurance and turn around specifications
• Follow all Quality Control and Standard Operating Procedures
• Report results
• Perform basic analysis.
• Other duties as assigned.
