Job summary

AGAT Laboratories in Dartmouth, NS is seeking a Laboratory Technician with GC-MS experience to support R&D activities at our state-of-the-art facility. The role is permanent with a Monday–Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

Responsibilities

  • Perform gas chromatography analyses on various samples according to established protocols.
  • Prepare samples, standards, and reagents for analysis.
  • Calibrate and maintain gas chromatography equipment, ensuring optimal performance and compliance with quality standards.
  • Analyze and interpret chromatographic data, generating accurate reports.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve any technical issues related to gas chromatography.
  • Collaborate with team members to ensure timely project completion.
  • Maintain laboratory safety protocols and adhere to regulatory requirements.

Summary:

AGAT Laboratories is currently seeking a skilled and motivated Laboratory Technician with experience in Gas Chromatography-Mass Spectrometry (GC-MS) working out of our Dartmouth, NS facility. This is a position with a permanent status. The Laboratory Technician will play a crucial role in supporting our research and development activities.

Schedule

Monday to Friday from 8am to 4:30pm

What you will be doing:
  • Perform gas chromatography analyses on various samples according to established protocols.
  • Prepare samples, standards, and reagents for analysis.
  • Calibrate and maintain gas chromatography equipment, ensuring optimal performance and compliance with quality standards.
  • Analyze and interpret chromatographic data, generating accurate reports.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve any technical issues related to gas chromatography.
  • Collaborate with team members to ensure timely project completion.
  • Maintain laboratory safety protocols and adhere to regulatory requirements.
What you bring to the table:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Biochemistry, or a related field.
  • Experience with gas chromatography techniques (1-3 years preferred).
  • Strong understanding of chromatographic theory and data interpretation.
  • Proficiency in laboratory equipment and software related to gas chromatography.
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
Preferred Skills:
  • Experience with complex sample matrices and method development.
  • Industrial experience

Work Environment:

This position requires a person to stand, sit and lift throughout the shift in a laboratory environment. Manual dexterity is required to perform repetitive tasks. PPE is required where applicable.
