Job summary

AGAT Laboratories in Mississauga is seeking a Laboratory Technician C for an entry-level role focused on organics sample preparation and extraction. You will assist with administrative and basic lab activities in a fast-paced environment, with a seasonal end date of January 4th 2027. Weekend and evening availability is required.

The role offers opportunities to gain experience and work with a dedicated team in a North American laboratory network.

Qualifications

• Chemical Technology Diploma or BSc or related field required.
• Strong English communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Attention to detail and good organizational skills.
• Basic computer skills with MS Excel and LIMS.

Responsibilities

• Perform basic laboratory procedures including preparation of samples, reagents and calibration solutions.
• Provide general lab support including washing glassware, cleaning work stations and waste disposal.
• Operate instruments with guidance from senior staff for maintenance, calibration and troubleshooting.
• Perform basic analysis and report results.
• Other duties as assigned.

Summary:

AGAT Laboratories is currently looking for a Laboratory Technician C in our Mississauga facility. This position is an entry level role where one can gain career experience in a with organics sample preparation and extraction. The successful candidate will assist with administrative and basic laboratory activities. This role will have a seasonal end date of January 4th 2027. Please note, weekend and evening availability is required.

What you will be doing:

• Perform basic laboratory procedures including preparation of samples, reagents and calibration solutions
• Provide general lab support including washing glassware, cleaning work stations and waste disposal
• Operate instruments, with guidance from senior staff perform maintenance, calibration and troubleshooting
• Perform basic analysis
• Report results
• Other duties as assigned

What you bring to the table:

• Chemical Technology Diploma or BSc or related field of study required
• Previous work lab experience is an asset, competency with analytical balance, dispensers and pipettes is preferred
• Strong English communication skills, both verbal and written
• Attention to detail with good organizational skills
• Basic computer skills especially with MS Excel and LIMS
• Team player with the ability to work in a positive manner in a fast paced environment

The anticipated wage for this role will be $20/hr

Work Environment:

This position requires a person to stand, sit and lift throughout the shift in a laboratory environment. Manual dexterity is required to perform repetitive tasks. PPE is required where applicable.
