Job summary

AGAT Laboratories is seeking a skilled professional to support laboratory operations in Dartmouth, Canada. The role focuses on ICP-MS instrument maintenance, data management, and precise reporting of results within established SOPs.

The ideal candidate holds a Bachelors in Chemistry or Biochemistry, has 3+ years of ICP-MS experience, and demonstrates strong data interpretation and meticulous attention to detail.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Laboratory Operations & Instrument Maintenance: perform sample prep, calibrations, and maintain ICP-MS instruments; troubleshoot as needed.
• Data Management & Quality Assurance: compile, verify, and validate data records; ensure QA standards and turnaround times.
• Reporting & Documentation: report and document results accurately and in a timely manner.

What you will be doing:

• Laboratory Operations & Instrument Maintenance
  • Perform samples, reagents, and calibrations preparations as directed.
  • Calibrate, operate, and maintain ICP-MS instruments, troubleshooting as necessary.
• Data Management & Quality Assurance
  • Compile, verify, and validate data records.
  • Ensure quality assurance standards and turnaround times are met, following all SOPs and QC guidelines.
• Reporting & Documentation
  • Report and document results accurately and in a timely manner.

What you bring to the table:

• Bachelors degree in Chemistry, Biochemistry, or a related field.
• Experience with ICPMStechniques (3+ years preferred).
• Strong understanding of ICPMS and data interpretation.
• Proficiency in laboratory equipment and software.
• Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.

Work Environment:

This position requires a person to stand, sit and lift throughout the shift in a laboratory environment. Manual dexterity is required to perform repetitive tasks. PPE is required where applicable.
