Job summary

You will direct supervisors, uphold QA/QC standards, support R&D initiatives, and drive continuous improvement across lab processes.

Role includes budgeting, SOP development, staff coaching, and cross-functional collaboration, with travel up to 25% within the U.S. Canadian citizenship with valid passport required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Chemistry, Physical Sciences, or related field
• Strong background in inorganic and analytical chemistry
• Experience in metallurgical laboratories and quantitative analysis preferred
• Knowledge of laboratory instrumentation, analytical methods, and LIMS systems
• Strong leadership, problem-solving, and organizational skills
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word

Responsibilities

• Lead and mentor laboratory supervisors and technical teams
• Ensure compliance with environmental, health, and safety standards
• Oversee QA/QC, method development, and assay accuracy
• Manage laboratory budgets, equipment planning, and inventory controls
• Develop and maintain SOPs, training programs, and laboratory procedures
• Support staff development, succession planning, and performance management
• Maintain and improve laboratory software systems and data management
• Collaborate closely with cross-functional departments and leadership teams
