Job summary

Alberta Precision Labs (APL) in Calgary seeks a Medical Laboratory Assistant I to work in a fast-paced, public-facing Patient Service Centre. You will perform venipuncture, handle specimens, process tests, and report results to support timely patient care.

This 0.70 FTE role requires days/evenings/weekends shifts at Beddington PSC, with temporary PT Benefits. Posting ends 29-SEP-2026; minimum CAD 25.16/hour, maximum CAD 31.36/hour, HSAA union.

Qualifications

• Completion of an accredited Medical Laboratory Assistant program or equivalent.
• Previous Phlebotomy experience and ECG Certification.

As a Medical Laboratory Assistant I, you will provide high quality service to clients of the clinical laboratory in an effective, efficient and safe manner. You will be responsible for a variety of laboratory functions including procurement, handling, processing, dispatching and testing of specimens, performing procedures and reporting results.

Required Qualifications:

Completion of an accredited Medical Laboratory Assistant program or equivalent.

Additional Required Qualifications:

Previous Phlebotomy experience and ECG Certification.

Preferred Qualifications:

At least 2 years of recent phlebotomy experience. Recent ECG experience. At least 6 months of experience in a Patient Service Centre.
