Job summary

Alberta Precision Labs is seeking a Medical Laboratory Assistant I for the Synergy Wellness Patient Service Centre. The role is temporary full-time with shifts 0600-1815 on weekdays and every third Saturday 0700-1515.

You will perform phlebotomy, ECGs, specimen handling, processing and reporting results in a fast-paced, patient-facing environment. As the first contact for patients, you will support internal teams, manage wait times and ensure accurate, timely lab services in a dynamic public

Qualifications

• Completion of an accredited Medical Laboratory Assistant program or equivalent.
• Phlebotomy experience and ECG certification required.
• At least 2 years of recent phlebotomy experience and ECG experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Procurement, handling, processing, dispatching and testing of specimens.
• Provide high quality service to clients of the clinical laboratory and report results.
• Be the first contact for patients; collaborate with internal stakeholders and health professionals.

The team at Synergy Wellness Patient Service Centre (PSC), is looking to add a highly engaged, enthusiastic, and outgoing Medical Laboratory Assistant to join our team in this fast-paced, public-facing location. Here you will have the opportunity to work both independently and as a member of our team where you will be responsible for a variety of laboratory functions, including phlebotomy, ECGs and monitoring wait times to ensure you are providing the best service to your patients.In this role you will be the first contact that patients have with the laboratory. This environment allows you the ability to adapt and work effectively under pressure, utilize time management skills, and prioritize tasks within this ever-changing environment.Your organization and communication skills will help you collaborate and maintain positive working relationships with internal stakeholders and other health care professionals.This is a temporary full-time position, scheduled to work between 0600-1815 on weekdays, as well as every third Saturday between 0700-1515.Make a difference in your community as you help healthcare professionals and patients get the information they need to improve, optimize, and maintain good health.
