Job summary

Alberta Precision Labs is hiring a Medical Laboratory Assistant I at Canmore General Hospital. You will join the laboratory team and support specimen procurement, processing, testing and reporting under supervision.

Job description

The town of Canmore is located approximately 80km west of Calgary nestled among Alberta’s Rocky Mountain Range. The laboratory plays a key role in the interdisciplinary team within the hospital and community.As a member of the interdisciplinary team this position is responsible for working all shifts assigned within the rotation. Reporting directly to the on-site senior technologist and the Regional Rural Supervisor, the MLA will be responsible for providing exemplary patient care by applying the regional policies and procedures. The scope of practice is a continuum ranging from basic to highly complex procedures and activities within the laboratory department.In accordance with Health Information Act (HIA), Freedom of Information and Privacy (FOIP) and other privacy legislation in effect the incumbent shall comply at all times with APL / AHS’s Information Privacy and Information Security policies.

Required Qualifications:

Preferred Qualifications:

1 Year or more experience working in Epic Beaker is an asset.1 Year or more experience Collecting Neonates is an asset.
