Job summary

EMSL Canada, Inc. is hiring for a full-time on-site position in Calgary, AB. The role focuses on receiving environmental samples, entering custody data in the LIMS, and ensuring complete documentation.

You will support shipping, processing, and reporting while maintaining client communication. The position requires a high school diploma or GED, strong data-entry and MS Office skills, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

  • Some laboratory or admin experience a plus.
  • Proficient in MS Office and data entry.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • Ability to work in a high-volume environment.

Responsibilities

  • Receive environmental samples and enter Chain of Custody into LIMS system.
  • Review paperwork for all incoming samples to ensure completeness and correctness.
  • Quality control of samples to ensure sample integrity.
  • Transfer samples based on priority to appropriate custody locations.
  • Coordinate and perform sample-related activities, including shipping and receiving, processing and administration.
  • Generate reports, invoices, and enter data produced by analysts into the computer system for the production of the final, client ready report.
  • Ensure the final report is prepared and that the results are reported to the client in a timely manner.
  • Assist with internal and external client questions via phone, e-mail, and in person.
  • Act as a liaison between clients and laboratory staff.
  • Prepare environmental samples prior to analysis.
  • Support all sample-related activities, including preservation, preparation, and disposal.
  • Clean, maintain, and troubleshoot laboratory equipment as needed.
  • Other responsibilities as deemed necessary by the manager

Position Type: Full Time

Salary Range: $20.00 - $20.00 Hourly

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Receive environmental samples and enter Chain of Custody into LIMS system

Qualifications
  • High school diploma or GED equivalent
  • Authorization to work in Canada indefinitely without restriction or sponsorship
  • Some laboratory experience either in academic or commercial setting is a plus
  • Experience in administration, data entry, and customer service
  • Proficient in MS Office
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to interact professionally with clientele
  • Ability to work in a high volume environment
  • Ability to stand and sit for various lengths of time
  • Ability to lift up to 25lbs.
  • Effective time management, organizational skills, and ability to multi-task and prioritize with minimal assistance
Available Shift

Position is full-time Monday to Friday 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

EMSL Canada offers supplemental benefits and paid time off.

The pay rate for this position is $20.00 per hour.
