Job summary

EMSL Canada is seeking a Laboratory Analyst II (Microbiology) in Toronto, ON. Responsibilities include preparing and analyzing samples for fungi and bacteria, including Legionella, and generating reports in the LIMS system.

The role requires a Life Sciences bachelor’s degree with microbiology lab experience, strong attention to detail, and ability to work both independently and in a team. The position offers full-time hours, a daytime shift Monday–Friday, and benefits.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Life Sciences (Biology or Microbiology) with at least 1 microbiology lab experience.
• Experience in preparing and analyzing microbiological samples (air, water, bulk materials).
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team; strong time management.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and analyze microbiological samples (air, water, bulk) for fungi and bacteria including Legionella.
• Generate analytical reports and enter data into LIMS.
• Maintain and troubleshoot lab equipment; perform quality control per QA/QC manual.
• Accurate documentation, sample login, data entry and report emailing.
• Overtime may be required as needed.

EMSL is seeking a Laboratory Analyst II (Microbiology) in Toronto, ON.Essential Duties & Responsibilities:Preparation and analysis of Microbiological samples (air, water, and bulk materials) for fungi and bacteria including LegionellaClassical and advanced methods for microbial and bio-aerosol analysisGenerate analytical reports and enter data into the LIMS systemClean, maintain, and troubleshoot laboratory equipment as neededPerform quality control practices per company Quality Assurance/Quality Control manualAdministrative duties including sample login and data entry, scanning and emailing reports and answering phonesOther responsibilities as deemed necessary by the managerRequirements:Bachelors Degree in Life Science is required, preferably in Biology or Microbiology with at least 1 Microbiology labAuthorization to work in the Canada indefinitely and without restriction or sponsorship2-3 years laboratory experience with preparing and analyzing samples for various microbiological tests.Ability to work with phase contrast and light microscopes, analytical balances, biological safety cabinets, filtration manifolds, and adhere to sterile techniques and good lab practicesAbility to distinguish colors in order to perform analysisAbility to work independently, and as a part of a team, self-motivated, adaptability, and a positive attitudeEffective time management organizational skills, and ability to multi- task and prioritize with minimal assistanceLeadership and/or previous management experience a plusMust be able to work overtime as neededAvailable Shift:Position is full time, Monday – Friday 9:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.Candidates currently living within a commutable distance of Toronto, ON are encouraged to applyEMSL Canada offers supplemental benefits and paid time off.
