Under the Labour Relations Directorate and the management of the Manager, National Policy Office, the Labour Relations Officer provides advice, representation, and support to the Institute, its members, and stewards on a wide range of labour relations matters. The role includes handling grievances, mediations, and complaints (including Phoenix-related issues), developing Institute positions, participating in labour-management committees, negotiating settlements, and conducting research on legislation and collective agreements.
The Officer also supports and trains stewards, maintains accurate case records, and contributes to knowledge sharing. This position requires strong knowledge of federal public service labour relations, advocacy and advisory skills, and experience in grievance handling and collective agreement interpretation. The position requires providing guidance and support to PIPSC members in both official languages, serving members nationwide and assisting bilingual or French-designated offices as needed.
Preference will be given in accordance with the provisions of the Collective Agreement for the IAM Local 3011 bargaining unit.
