Job summary

LifeLabs Medical Laboratory Services is seeking a Part Time Lab Patient Technician to assist with patient specimen collection and processing. You will greet patients, explain procedures, and prepare specimens for transport, supporting high-quality diagnostic services.

The role requires phlebotomy and ECG capabilities, strong communication, and a focus on privacy. Weekend availability and Brockville scheduling may be required where applicable.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an approved Laboratory Assistant program or equivalent is preferred.
• Phlebotomy experience is an asset.
• ECG training or experience is an asset.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to relate to patients.

Responsibilities

• Greet patients and collect required information, explain collection procedures.
• Perform phlebotomy, connect/disconnect holter monitors, and ECG tracings.
• Collect special test samples and complete related documentation.
• Maintain client relationships and respond to inquiries.
• Enter patient demographics and requisition information, prepare specimens.
