Responsibilities

  • Provide clean dishes, utensils, glassware and equipment.
  • Sanitize dishes and maintain kitchen sanitation per code standards.
  • Operate and maintain the dish machine in the AM/PM shifts.
  • Keep kitchen and work areas clean, swept and mopped.
  • Assist with basic prep and routine cleaning duties.
  • Troubleshoot dishwasher malfunctions and report issues.

The Bradley, an Independent Living senior community, is seeking Dishwasher/Kitchen Assistant. Position Summary:

Provide exceptional service to all residents, guests and coworkers by performing essential duties effectively and efficiently. Prepare, wash, and store dishes. Work as a team member with other employees to assure efficient, safe operation of the kitchen.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:


  • Maintain resident, employee, and community information in strict confidence (with community management or other employees as necessary).

  • Provides guests and employees with clean and sanitized utensils, plate ware, glassware and equipment.

  • Ensures dishes are sanitized and available as needed.

  • Keeps sanitation solution up to health department code standards at all times.

  • Sets up the dish machine in the AM and closes down the machine in the PM according to procedures.

  • Maintains daily cleanliness and maintenance of dish machine.

  • Washes plate ware, glassware, silverware, pots/pans and kitchen utensils according to sanitation and cleaning procedures.

  • Places clean plate ware, glassware, silverware and pots/pans in specified shelves according to sanitation and cleaning procedures.

  • Keeps kitchen clean by sweeping, mopping floors, lining and emptying trash.

  • Cleans and sanitizes throughout shift.

  • Completes assigned prep work and cleaning duties.

  • Troubles-shoots dishwasher machine malfunction.

  • Attend scheduled training seminars and staff meetings.

  • Keeps immediate supervisor promptly and fully informed of all problems or unusual matters of significance and takes prompt corrective action where necessary or suggests alternative courses of action which may be taken.

  • Performs all duties and responsibilities in a timely and effective manner in accordance with established company policies to achieve the overall objectives of the position.
