Job summary

Brightwater Senior Living Group is seeking a Server to provide exceptional dining service to residents and guests in our retirement living community. You will greet residents, take orders, and deliver meals with warmth, accuracy, and courtesy.

Responsibilities include setting tables, managing server stations, serving meals and beverages, and maintaining cleanliness. Experience with POS systems and cash handling is required, along with the ability to balance transactions at shift end.

Qualifications

  • Demonstrate ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing.
  • Maintain any other certifications as required by state or provincial regulations.
  • Ability to remain calm when confronted with angry guests.
  • Ability to operate P.O.S. computer, make correct change, process credit card transactions and balance at the end of shift.

  • Serve linchpins: beverages, cereals, soups, salads, meals, and desserts.

Position Summary:

Provide exceptional service to all residents, guests and coworkers by performing essential duties effectively and efficiently. Serve meals to residents in an efficient, courteous and friendly manner, all the while holding up Brightwaters standard and expectations.

  • Maintain resident, employee, and community information in strict confidence (with community management or other employees as necessary).
  • Responsibilities for Lunch and Dinner:
    • Assure menu holders are clean, correct menu is in menu holders, and placed on table.
    • Set tables for next meal.
    • Assist with bussing tables after first course served and at end of meal.
    • Clean and sanitize tables and chairs.
    • Sanitize placemats and set on tables.
    • Spot clean and vacuum carpet.
    • Clean table and chair legs (monthly).
    • Prepare server station for lunch and supper.
    • Serve fresh bread in basket per assigned meal.
  • Serve lunch and dinner
    • Greet residents (and visitors if applicable) at table before taking orders or serving.
    • Politely and efficiently take meal orders and deliver them to kitchen.
    • Assure adaptive equipment is present for residents who require it.
    • Serve beverages, cereals, soups, salads, meals, and desserts.
  • Complete side duties, such as adding sugar and creamer packets, cleaning beverage center, etc.
  • Perform housekeeping and laundry duties as assigned.
