Champlain Seafood is looking to hire a Key Account Manager to join their Sales team. Champlain Seafood focuses on Atlantic lobster and snow crab sourced from the Canadian Maritimes and American Northeast. The company has been recognized for the past three years as one of the Best Managed Companies in Canada and one of the Best Places to Work in Atlantic Canada.

The Key Account Manager will be responsible for developing customer relationships, exploring new markets, increasing sales, and business development for frozen lobster and crab products, primarily in Europe and South Asia, and beyond.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Manage the development of international sales outside of North America; identify opportunities to expand into new frozen markets and develop new customer bases.
  2. Correspond with and build a network of international clients and distributors to achieve sales and marketing objectives, strategies, and tactics for profitable growth.
  3. Collaborate with internal cross-functional teams (including sales administration, operations, and logistics) to introduce products into new markets.
  4. Ensure export sales comply with Canadian, US, and international regulations.
  5. Gather and analyze market research data to gain market insights.
  6. Conduct due diligence on potential foreign distribution partners, which may include international visits and trade shows.

The ideal candidate is a proactive, driven individual with grit, charisma, and strong business acumen to lead international sales efforts. You should have at least 5+ years of experience in developing and maintaining international food product markets, with a proven sales record. Experience and a network within the seafood sector would be a significant asset.

You should have a relevant post-secondary education and demonstrate ongoing learning. The ability to be hands-on and eager to contribute to the company's success is essential.
