Overview

Kemin is seeking a talented and dedicated Key Account Manager. The successful candidate will be responsible for increasing Kemin’s business within the animal agricultural industries in Western Canada. The role involves working closely with industry major players, growing existing accounts, and expanding Kemin’s current business through new accounts. The individual will manage all accounts in the area as part of a team with other Kemin employees, including Technical Service Managers, Product Managers, other Key Account Managers, and Kemin’s Distributors. This position reports to the Country Manager of Kemin Canada. Extensive travel, mostly by car with some air travel, is required. The position is considered 40 hours per week but demands flexibility and multi-tasking skills.

This is a remote position primarily requiring road travel up to 70%.

Responsibilities

  • Achieve sales growth and gross margin targets.
  • Identify and qualify prospective customers.
  • Develop and manage sales projects for new and existing customers.
  • Lead producer meetings to promote Kemin’s brand and products in Canada and with Distributors.
  • Build mutually beneficial relationships with key customer motivators.
  • Present technical sales pitches and help customers understand Kemin’s products and strategies.
  • Resolve customer concerns and work closely with Distributors.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in science or agriculture-related field, with 7+ years in technical sales within the animal agricultural industry.
  • Strong understanding of chemical and biological sciences for technical presentations.
  • Experience managing sales projects through all phases.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and CRM tools.
  • Self-motivated with a sense of urgency and excellent communication skills.
  • Post-offer background check and drug screening required.
