Job summary

Rocky View Schools in Alberta is seeking a Learning Assistant for a term full-time role at Heloise Lorimer School in Airdrie. The position runs 30 hours per week from immediate start until April 23, 2027.

You will support students with individualized plans, assist with daily living activities and collaborate with teachers to implement education plans. Educational Assistant Certificate or related diploma is required; experience with challenging behavior is an asset.

Qualifications

• Educational Assistant Certificate or diploma in a related field is required.
• Willingness to obtain CPR/First Aid certification is an asset.
• Experience supporting students with challenging behavior is valued.

Responsibilities

• Assist students as identified in individualized plans, including supports for personal and safety needs.
• Implement strategies directed by teachers and student plans.
• Record observations and data to guide positive behavior support efforts.
• Participate in planning meetings for student planning as requested.
• Assist with preparation of individualized program materials under teacher direction.
• Promote student learning, belonging and independence.
• Assist with routine personal care activities and daily living tasks.
