Job summary

New Westminster Schools in British Columbia is seeking a qualified School Psychologist for a 0.40 FTE temporary position to support K-12 students through psycho-educational assessments and targeted consultation.

The successful candidate will join a collaborative team, apply current assessment methods, and help identify students for inclusive education pathways, while aligning with the BC Curriculum and district policies.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in School Psychology or equivalent.
• Eligible for membership in the Ministry of Education Teacher Regulation Branch.
• Eligible for membership in CHCPBC.
• Ability to conduct psycho-educational assessments independently.
• Knowledge of assessment methods for cognitive, academic, behavioral and emotional functioning.
• Ability to collaborate with district and school staff to plan interventions.
• Knowledge of audit criteria for inclusive education.
• Excellent communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Conduct psycho-educational assessments for K-12 students.
• Provide consultation to teachers and parents on learning, behavior and cognitive concerns.
• Assist in identification processes for inclusive education categories.
• Guide resource teachers in using Level B assessment tools.
• Conduct assessments for provincial examination adjudication.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
