Type of position: Regular
Overview of your future role at BBA

As a designer, you’ll be involved in delivering engineering projects, selecting technology and helping execute projects in the hydroelectric power, mining and heavy industry sectors. You’ll be based at our Mont-Saint-Hilaire or Québec City office. You’ll play a key role in all phases of engineering projects, ensuring exceptional technical quality of deliverables.

Responsibilities
  • Design various systems and equipment in 3D
  • Work with point clouds (3D scanning)
  • Select equipment for hydroelectric, mining and industrial applications
  • Create layout drawings of mechanical equipment and systems
  • Perform onsite technical information surveys
  • Perform detailed calculations
  • Assist more experienced personnel with the technical aspects of complex tasks
  • Prepare plans and specifications based on guidelines
  • Foster a workplace culture that promotes having fun while delivering high-quality professional work

Job requirements
  • College diploma in mechanical engineering technology
  • Up to five years of experience
  • Experience with 3D design
  • Available to travel occasionally between the Mont-Saint-Hilaire and Montréal offices
  • Available for short assignments at client sites
  • Advanced level of French to collaborate effectively with BBA offices and/or clients in Québec.
  • Intermediate level of English to collaborate effectively with BBA offices and/or clients in English-speaking Canadian provinces and internationally. The frequency of English use may range from occasional to daily, depending on ongoing projects
  • Asset: experience in the heavy industry sector (mining, petrochemicals, energy, etc.)
  • Asset: familiar with SolidWorks, Revit, SmartPlant3D, CADWorx, Ansys and AutoCAD applications
  • Asset: knowledge of welding, hydraulics, pneumatics, welded assemblies and structural design
  • Asset: multidisciplinary knowledge (electricity and automation)
