Job Title: Junior Learning Assistant

Location: MaKami College, Edmonton and Calgary, Alberta

Position Overview: The primary responsibility of a Junior Learning Assistant is to support student learning outside of regular class hours through one-on-one and group tutoring, contributing to a positive and effective learning environment.

Major Responsibilities:

• Provide educational support and effective study strategies to students
• Assist in developing and reviewing tutoring resources and training materials
• Deliver individualized and group tutoring sessions and learning plans
• Monitor and adapt tutoring approaches based on student progress
• Support instructors and assist with preparing lessons and materials
• Collaborate with the Strategic Academic Learning Team to tailor tutoring plans
• Participate in tutor training and development sessions
• Perform additional duties such as marking assignments and creating tutoring materials as assigned by the Student Success Centre Supervisor

Qualifications and Experience:

• Registered Massage Therapist qualification
• Experience with assistive technology (asset)
• Experience teaching ESL students (asset)
• Passion for motivating and empowering students
• Ability to follow directions and work collaboratively
