Job summary

Placements24 seeks aJunior Secondary School History Teacher for Grades 8-10 at a respected school in Kimberley. You will plan, deliver and assess engaging history lessons, covering South African and world history, and foster critical thinking and historical inquiry in students.

You will collaborate with colleagues, participate in professional development, and communicate progress to parents, while maintaining inclusive classroom practices and high standards of pedagogy.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in History or related humanities field.
• PGCE or equivalent teaching qualification.
• Valid SACE registration.
• Strong knowledge of SA and world history relevant to the curriculum.

Responsibilities

• Plan, prepare and deliver history lessons to Grades 8-10.
• Develop engaging curriculum materials and assessments.
• Foster critical thinking and historical inquiry.
• Assess student progress using essays, exams and projects.
• Collaborate with colleagues and school leadership on curriculum.
• Participate in professional development opportunities.
• Communicate with parents/guardians about progress.
