Job summary

Hansen Industries Ltd. in Richmond, BC, is seeking a Junior Estimator who can review customer drawings, generate accurate estimates, and communicate with customers regarding RFQs.

The ideal candidate will have 1–2 years of manufacturing experience and a foundation in mechanical engineering or related training. Responsibilities include processing purchase orders, responding to inquiries, and reviewing project performance against estimates while coordinating with shop leadership to ensure timely,

Responsibilities

Job description

Hansen Industries is looking to hire a detail-oriented candidate to fulfil the Junior Estimator position.

Core Responsibilities:

• Review customer drawings and generate estimates.
• Contact customers about Request for Quote.
• Authorize Customer Purchase Orders.
• Respond to phone messages and emails in a timely manner.
• Review completed jobs to assess actual times vs. estimates.
• Update estimates with routing request changes.
• Follow jobs through the shop and discuss with the Supervisor/Lead Hand/Manager estimated times and operations for a job so that the jobs run as planned.

Qualifications & requirements:

• Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent training is preferred.
• 1-2 years’ work experience in manufacturing industry.
• Experience in the fabrication industry an asset.
• Ability to read engineering drawings (blueprints).
• Sales experience is an asset.
• Self-motivated/Self-starter with a professional and positive attitude.
• Ability to work under pressure.
• Good verbal and written communication skills in English.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects/ tasks.
• Attention to detail.
• Excellent Customer Services skills.
