Job summary

Finning Canada is seeking a Journeyperson Electrician to join our Surrey, BC team. The role focuses on troubleshooting, maintenance and repair of heavy electrical and power generation equipment, including gen-sets, PLCs, HMIs, and switchgear.

The successful candidate will work in a unionized setting with opportunities for growth, comprehensive benefits, and training provided through CAT dealer programs. This position operates on a 5x2 shift, with travel within BC and Yukon as needed.

Qualifications

• Journeyperson Electrician Certification required or Red Seal preferred.
• Strong teamwork and safety focus in challenging field conditions.

Responsibilities

• Service, troubleshoot and repair electrical equipment and power generation equipment.
• Service and troubleshoot electronic controls, PLCs, HMIs, and electrical switchgear.
• Build, construct and test electrical panels.
• Load test power generation equipment.

Job Description:

Responsibilities:

• Assist in fulfilling our customer service commitment

Qualifications:

• Journeyperson Electrician Certification (Red Seal preferred)
• FSRA or FSRB credential would be considered an asset
• Power Generation experience would be considered an asset
• Generator Rebuild experience would be considered an asset
• Heavy Duty Mechanical experience or certification would be considered an asset
• Team player capable of working with minimal supervision, in challenging conditions
• Safety conscious team player with excellent organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills with a high attention to detail
• Valid driver’s license with a successful recent drivers abstract

Notes:

• Homebase for this position will be Surrey Power Systems, but you may be required to travel to locations throughout British Columbia and Yukon
• This will be a 5x2 shift
• A condition of employment is the ability to be fit tested and the ability to wear a respirator
• Any future shift changes that may occur will be made in accordance with the terms and conditions of the Collective Agreement
• Candidate selection will be in compliance with the terms of the current collective agreement
