Job summary

Extol Developments is seeking a skilled carpenter to join our Regina team, performing on-site framing, finishing, and fit-out work for residential and commercial projects. You will read blueprints, lay out spaces, and install cabinets, trims, and fixtures with accuracy.

Qualifications

  • Must be a certified carpenter with hands-on trade experience and strong reading of drawings.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines in fast-paced environments.
  • Knowledge of safety guidelines and a clear understanding of shop math and measurements.

Responsibilities

  • Read blueprints and sketches to determine job requirements.
  • Lay out flooring, roofing, or drywall for precise alignment.
  • Carve, assemble, and install cabinets, shelves, and fixtures as needed.
  • Take precise measurements and calculate material quantities.
  • Build scaffolding and construction structures, ensuring safety.
  • Inspect workspace for safety and feasibility.

Characteristics Needed to Succeed
  • Successful completion of a carpentry apprenticeship program.
  • Experience as a trade carpenter, including hands‑on experience working with carpentry materials.
  • Ability to work under pressure in fast‑paced environments while meeting tight deadlines.
  • Ability to read technical documents and drawings.
  • Knowledge of and adherence to safety guidelines while on shift.
  • 20/20 vision.
Day‑to‑Day Responsibilities
  • Read blueprints, drawings, and sketches to understand job requirements.
  • Lay out flooring, roofing, or drywall to ensure they are level and compatible.
  • Carve and assemble cabinets, shelves, and other items as required, and install them where designated.
  • Take precise measurements to calculate the size and amount of the material that are needed.
  • Build scaffolding and other construction structures.
  • Cut, shape and smooth lumber, fiberglass, and other material according to measurements.
  • Inspect the workspace for safety and job feasibility.
