Job summary

Elk Valley Resources (EVR), part of the Glencore Group, invites applications for a Talent Management co-op role in British Columbia. Start date is January 2027 for an 8- or 12-month term.

The role focuses on performance management, succession planning, leadership and learning programs, with opportunities to develop metrics and create materials for diverse audiences. You will gain hands-on experience in mining operations, receive mentorship, and have potential career progression opportunities

Qualifications

• Pursuing an Undergraduate or Master’s degree in Human Resources, Organizational Development, or Commerce with HR specialization.
• Strong written, verbal and interpersonal communication; ability to explain complex ideas to multidisciplinary teams.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office; SharePoint experience preferred; basic data analysis understood.

Responsibilities

• Provide support for performance management, succession planning, leadership development, and learning programs.
• Answer program and process questions from a diverse audience.
• Provide reporting for Talent Management programs as required.
• Develop visual and written communication materials for varied audiences.
• Track and develop metrics to measure program effectiveness.
• Manage data files on the Talent Management SharePoint site.
• Support Talent Management project innovation for key initiatives.

In this role, you will:

• Provide support for performance management, succession planning, leadership, inclusive workplace, and learning programs
• Answer program and process related questions from a diverse audience
• Provide reporting functionality for Talent Management programs as required
• Help develop visual and written communication materials for a variety of audiences
• Help to track and develop metrics for measuring effectiveness of Talent Management programs
• Management of data files on the Talent Management SharePoint site
• Support Talent Management project innovation for key initiatives

Requirements:

• Currently pursing an Undergraduate or Master’s degree in Human Resources, Organizational Development, or a Commerce program with a specialization in Human Resources or a related field
• Motivated self-starter: able to prioritize work under pressure and show great attention to detail while maintaining confidentiality and a high level of professionalism
• Strong written, verbal and interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate complex ideas and concepts to multidisciplinary teams
• Proficient in analyzing information to support informed decision-making
• Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
• Working knowledge of SharePoint
• Experience with Success Factors, SAP, or software such as Power BI would be an asset
• Prior work experience would be considered an asset

Salary: $4,117 - $5,192 CAD/month

Salary is commensurate with the number of academic semesters and prior co‑op experiences completed.
