Job summary

EVR, a Canadian steelmaking coal producer, invites a student intern to join the Elk Valley Resources team in Sparwood, BC. You will contribute to EVR Digital Systems, support help desks, and participate in mine-site and multi-location projects.

This 8-month co-op starts January 2027 and offers mentorship, hands-on experience, and career growth opportunities within a diverse, safety-first environment.

Qualifications

• Pursuing an undergraduate degree or diploma in Computer Science, Information Technology, Information Systems or related fields.
• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
• Willingness to work outside a conventional office at mine sites or multiple locations.

Responsibilities

• Participate in and adhere to health and safety programs and policies
• Collaborate with a team to continually improve the current mining systems across the operations to improve production, quality, reliability, accessibility, and credibility of EVR Digital Systems
• Collaborate with help desk and network operations teams to determine and resolve end user issues
• Plan, coordinate, and communicate all system changes
• Create and evaluate innovative ideas and technologies to help improve the way we do business

Qualifications

• Working towards an Undergraduate degree or diploma in Computer Science, Information Technology, InformationSystemsor related fields
• A valid Class 5 Driver's License or extra-provincial equivalent, without learner's restrictions
• Motivated self-starters with the ability to manage several projects simultaneously
• Comfortable working in a dynamic work environment with a willingness to work outside of a conventional office as some roles are located on an active mine site or are supporting multiple office locations throughout Sparwood
• Previous work experience in a technical environment is an asset

Salary: $4,117 - $5,192 CAD/month

Salary is commensurate with the number of academic semesters and prior co-op experiences completed.
