Job summary

Elk Valley Resources (EVR) in British Columbia invites a co-op student to join the Talent Management team for 8 or 12 months starting January 2027. You will support performance management, succession planning, leadership development, and learning programs while working with a multidisciplinary team on reports and communications.

Seeking an undergraduate or master’s student in HR/OD or commerce with HR focus; strong communication, confidentiality, and MS Office/SharePoint skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Pursuing an undergraduate or master’s degree in Human Resources, Organizational Development, or a Commerce program with an HR specialization.
• Motivated self-starter: able to prioritize work under pressure and maintain confidentiality.
• Strong written, verbal and interpersonal communication with multidisciplinary teams.
• Proficient in analyzing information to support decision-making; MS Office and SharePoint knowledge.
• Experience with SuccessFactors, SAP, or Power BI is an asset.

Responsibilities

• Provide support for Talent Management programs, including performance management and succession planning.
• Answer program and process related questions from a diverse audience.
• Provide reporting functionality for Talent Management programs as required.
• Develop visual and written communication materials for diverse audiences.
• Track and develop metrics to measure program effectiveness.
• Manage data files on the Talent Management SharePoint site.
• Support Talent Management project innovation for key initiatives.

In this role, you will:

• Provide support for performance management, succession planning, leadership, inclusive workplace, and learning programs

• Help to track and develop metrics for measuring effectiveness of Talent Management programs
• Management of data files on the Talent Management SharePoint site
• Support Talent Management project innovation for key initiatives

Requirements:

• Currently pursing an Undergraduate or Master's degree in Human Resources, Organizational Development, or a Commerce program with a specialization in Human Resources or a related field
• Motivated self-starter: able to prioritize work under pressure and show great attention to detail while maintaining confidentiality and a high level of professionalism
• Strong written, verbal and interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate complex ideas and concepts to multidisciplinary teams
• Proficient in analyzing information to support informed decision-making
• Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
• Working knowledge of SharePoint
• Experience with Success Factors, SAP, or software such as Power BI would be an asset
• Prior work experience would be considered an asset

Salary: $4,117 - $5,192 CAD/month

Salary is commensurate with the number of academic semesters and prior co-op experiences completed.
