Job summary

Altis Technology in Ontario is seeking a hands-on IT contractor to image workstations and deliver Level 1–2 end-user support on-site. You will collaborate with IT Operations to keep technology running smoothly and resolve incidents efficiently.

The role includes travel between two nearby sites (≈2 km apart) with equipment, and responsibility for imaging ~90 devices, OS deployment, and documentation of solutions. Strong communication and problem-solving skills are essential.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of information technology experience with an Associate Degree; Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of hardware, network infrastructure, and IT support concepts.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office 365, Windows 11, SCCM/Tanium for imaging and deployment, and Windows Server 2016 and 2025.
  • Basic networking knowledge including Cisco and Meraki technologies.
  • Experience with HP PCs, Dell HCI servers, and printers; ITIL knowledge is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Image, install, configure, and maintain workstations and IT infrastructure (≈90 devices total).
  • Provide Level 1 and Level 2 technical support for end users, incidents, hardware, and software issues.
  • Diagnose, categorize, and resolve incidents and problems per procedures and service levels.
  • Monitor IT equipment and perform operational and technical qualification testing.
  • Document solutions and update knowledge bases; contribute to continuous improvement.

About the Opportunity

This is a hands-on opportunity to support a short-term IT integration project within a large North American industrial organization. The primary focus will be imaging workstations while providing responsive Level 1 and Level 2 technical support to end users.


You'll work closely with IT Operations and internal users to keep technology running smoothly, troubleshoot incidents, and deliver reliable on-site service. This role is well suited to someone who enjoys solving technical problems, working directly with people, and contributing to a consistent, high-quality support experience.

Your Responsibilities


  • You'll image, install, configure, and maintain workstations and other IT infrastructure. Image and configure new laptops (approximately 90 devices total across the contract)

  • You'll provide Level 1 and Level 2 technical support for user requests, incidents, hardware, and software issues.

  • You'll diagnose, categorize, and help resolve incidents and problems in line with established procedures and service levels.

  • You'll monitor physical and logical IT equipment and perform operational and technical qualification testing.

  • You'll support service delivery, configuration, and customization of IT solutions while considering security and availability requirements.

  • You'll document solutions, update knowledge management systems, and contribute to knowledge sharing and continuous improvement.


Skills and Qualifications


  • 5+ years of Information Technology experience, with an Associate Degree in Science required and a Bachelor's degree preferred.

  • Strong knowledge of business systems, hardware, network infrastructure, and IT support concepts.

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office 365, Windows 11, SCCM/Tanium for for operating system imaging and deployment, and Windows Server 2016 and 2025. Relevant certifications are an asset.

  • Basic networking knowledge, including Cisco and Meraki technologies.

  • Experience supporting hardware such as HP PCs, Dell HCI servers, and printers.

  • ITIL knowledge is preferred.

  • Strong analytical, organizational, communication, interpersonal, and customer service skills, with sound judgment when addressing technical concerns.
