Job summary

Nason Contracting Group Ltd. is currently seeking local Journeyperson or Apprentice Ironworkers for work on our DOW Chemical project in Fort Saskatchewan, Alberta.

The position offers a 14 days on, 7 days off schedule and 10 hours per day, with wages of $36.40-$52.00 per hour as per the Collective Agreement. Responsibilities include unloading and stacking steel units, rigging, directing crane operators, and ensuring EH&S compliance on site.

Qualifications

• Journeyperson or Apprentice Ironworker Certificate.
• Experience in industrial or construction.
• Strong commitment to safety.
• Excellent verbal communication skills.
• Strong leadership and organizational abilities.
• Ability to read and interpret drawings, bills of materials, and written instructions.

Responsibilities

• Unload and stack steel units so each piece can be hoisted as needed.
• Assemble rigging to move heavy equipment and materials.
• Attach cables from a crane and direct crane operators with hand signals.
• Position steel units, align holes, and insert temporary bolts.
• Assemble and erect prefabricated metal structures.
• Ensure EH&S compliance on site and safe work practices.

What You Will Be Working On

• Attach cables from a crane or derrick and direct crane operators with hand signals or radios
• Position steel units, align holes, and insert temporary bolts
• Assemble and erect prefabricated metal structures
• Ensure safe work practices, EH&S procedures, and OH&S compliance are followed on site
