As an Inventory Technician in the Mining Tire Group, you will be responsible for the accurate delivery of goods to customers in the region, maintaining inventory and shop organization, and adhering to Kal Tire’s work and safety standards. A key aspect of this role is setting the standard for service excellence within the industry and demonstrating the Kal Tire AIMS.
CORE RESPONSIBILITIES
Service Excellence
- Perform all aspects of shop maintenance and operations.
- Maintain tools and equipment properly.
- Promote and demonstrate best practices to ensure high service standards.
- Coordinate with Inventory Coordinator and inside sales team to ensure efficient product delivery to sites.
Operational / Technical
- Handle materials, manage delivery and inventory effectively.
- Pick orders accurately without mistakes.
- Operate heavy-duty equipment and delivery vehicles safely.
- Conduct maintenance checks and ensure all work complies with Kal Tire safety standards.
- Complete required reporting and data logging.
- Keep the work area clean, organized, and efficient.
- Report inventory concerns to the coordinator.
- Stay updated on product knowledge and warehouse locations.
- Understand proper paperwork and workflow processes for all customers in the region.
- Possess basic computer skills.
- Investigate inventory loss and participate in loss prevention efforts.
Health, Safety & Environment
- Understand and promote Kal Tire’s Journey to Zero safety program.
- Follow PPE requirements and be a role model for safety behavior.
- Ensure emergency preparedness plans are understood and tested annually.
- Promote environmental responsibility through recycling and cleanliness.
- Assist in developing and achieving environmental goals.
WORK EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION
- 1-2 years of warehousing experience, preferably in the Tire industry.
- Strong interpersonal and organizational skills; ability to work in a team.
- Commitment to outstanding customer service.
- Experience with safety procedures in daily operations.
- Secondary school diploma or equivalent.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
- Ability to perform physically demanding duties safely.
- Ability to obtain and maintain necessary licenses and certifications for mine site work.
- Mechanical aptitude for related tasks.
- Adherence to safety procedures and safe work practices.
- Ability to work in a results-driven, fast-paced environment as part of a team.
- Self-motivated, proactive, problem-solver, capable of working independently.
- Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Good literacy and numeracy skills.
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS
- A Class 5 Driver’s License is required; a Class 3 license is preferred.
