Job summary

WSP in Canada is seeking a Civil Engineering Intern to gain hands-on experience supporting infrastructure projects. Working with experienced engineers, designers, and project managers, you will contribute to meaningful work while building the technical and professional skills needed to launch your engineering career.

Qualifications

  • Currently enrolled in a Civil Engineering degree program at an accredited university.
  • Returning to full‑time studies after the internship term.
  • Interest in transportation, municipal infrastructure, land development, water resources, or construction engineering.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office; AutoCAD Civil 3D is an asset.
  • Engineering fundamentals and applying classroom learning to real‑world challenges.
  • Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities with a proactive learning approach.
  • Ability to collaborate within multidisciplinary project teams.
  • Valid driver's license considered an asset for field activities.

Responsibilities

  • Support the planning, design, and delivery of civil infrastructure projects that strengthen communities.
  • Contribute to engineering calculations, technical analysis, and data interpretation.
  • Assist in development of drawings, specifications, sketches, and technical reports.
  • Participate in field investigations, site visits, inspections, and data collection.
  • Research codes, standards, and regulations to support compliant and innovative solutions.
  • Prepare quantity take‑offs, cost estimates, and project documentation.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and contribute to project discussions and problem‑solving.
  • Develop technical expertise while delivering sustainable infrastructure solutions.

Compensation

BC, AB, SK, NWT & NU: $24.00 – $32.25 per hour
MB & ON: $22.50 – $30.25 per hour
Atlantic Provinces & QC: $21.50 – $30.25 per hour
