Job summary

WSP Canada in Vancouver is seeking a Civil Engineering Intern to gain hands-on experience supporting infrastructure projects across Canada. You'll work with engineers, designers and project managers to develop technical skills and contribute to meaningful projects in transportation, municipal infrastructure, water resources, and construction.

Qualifications

  • Currently enrolled in Civil Engineering degree program at an accredited university.
  • Returning to full-time studies following the internship term.
  • Interest in transportation, municipal infrastructure, land development, water resources, or construction engineering.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office applications and AutoCAD Civil 3D is considered an asset.
  • Knowledge of engineering fundamentals and a willingness to apply classroom learning to real-world challenges.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with a proactive approach to learning.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively within multidisciplinary project teams.

Responsibilities

  • Support the planning, design, and delivery of civil infrastructure projects that strengthen communities and improve quality of life.
  • Contribute to engineering calculations, technical analysis, and data interpretation that inform project decisions.
  • Assist in the development of drawings, specifications, sketches, and technical reports that help bring projects from concept to reality.
  • Participate in field investigations, site visits, inspections, and data collection activities while gaining practical project experience.
  • Research applicable codes, standards, and regulations to support compliant and innovative engineering solutions.
  • Prepare quantity take-offs, cost estimates, and project documentation that help drive successful project delivery.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and contribute to project discussions, coordination efforts, and technical problem-solving.
  • Develop your technical expertise while helping deliver sustainable infrastructure solutions that positively impact the built environment.

Compensation

BC, AB, SK, NWT & NU: $24.00 - $32.25 per hour

MB & ON: $22.50 - $30.25 per hour

Atlantic Provinces & QC: $21.50 - $30.25 per hour
