Job summary

WSP is offering an 8-month Civil Engineering Co-op in Edmonton, Alberta, from January to August. You will support land development and municipal infrastructure projects, gaining hands-on experience under experienced engineers and professionals.

As a Civil Engineering Co-op Student, you will engage in design, field work, and project delivery while developing practical skills and industry knowledge in a mentored environment.

Qualifications

  • Currently enrolled in a Civil Engineering degree program and returning to full-time studies after the term.
  • Available for an 8-month co-op placement from January through August.
  • Interest in municipal engineering, land development, and community infrastructure projects.
  • Familiarity with AutoCAD Civil 3D, GIS, or related software is a plus.
  • Strong technical, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in both office and field environments.
  • Valid driver's license and willingness to travel to project sites as needed.
  • Commitment to a safe and collaborative work environment.

Responsibilities

  • Support planning and design of land development and municipal infrastructure projects.
  • Assist with grading, site servicing, stormwater management, and transportation-related tasks.
  • Prepare calculations, drawings, technical reports, and supporting documentation.
  • Participate in site visits, field reviews, and construction-related activities.
  • Collect and analyze project data to support engineering decisions.
  • Collaborate with engineers, designers, and project managers on project delivery.
  • Contribute to projects that support community growth and development.
  • Develop technical and professional skills through mentorship and hands-on experience.

Join our Land Development and Municipal Engineering team for an 8-month co-op term from January to August . As a Civil Engineering Co-op Student , you'll support a variety of projects and develop practical skills in design, project delivery, field work, and consulting.

Compensation

AB, BC, NT, NU, SK & YT: $24.00 - $32.25/hour

MB & ON: $22.50 - $30.25/hour

NB, NL, NS, PE & QC: $21.50 - $30.25/hour
