Job summary

Stantec in Atlantic Canada seeks an Intermediate Hydrogeologist to join a multidisciplinary team. You will manage hydrogeologic assessments, groundwater supply development, and protection programs, while mentoring junior staff and contributing to projects.

Responsibilities include field investigations, GIS analyses, groundwater modeling (MODFLOW/FEFLOW), and technical reporting. Travel to field sites and BD activities are expected, with a strong emphasis on safety and collaboration.

Qualifications

• Minimum of a bachelor's degree specializing in groundwater from a Hydrogeology, Geoscience, or Engineering program.
• 5 - 10 years of working experience in consulting or regulatory environment, regularly using and analyzing hydrogeologic data.
• Existing professional registration (P.Geo. or P.Eng.)

Responsibilities

• Follow safe work practices and adhere to company and client guidelines for safe operations.
• Conduct field investigations including drilling, well construction oversight, groundwater sampling, and water level monitoring.
• Produce geological cross-sections and groundwater contour maps.
• Interpret aquifer tests and perform GIS-based spatial analyses.
• Develop and manage numerical groundwater models using MODFLOW or FEFLOW
• Prepare technical reports and deliver internal presentations on hydrogeologic investigations
• Contribute to budgets, scopes, and schedules; travel to field sites as needed
• Support business development, proposals, and client relationship building
• Provide supervision and mentoring to junior staff
