Job summary

Scotiabank is seeking an Insurance Case Coordinator for a 12-month contract in Toronto. The role focuses on administering in-force policy service requests, guiding form completion, and maintaining accurate policy records.

Job description

Title: Insurance Case Coordinator (12 Month Contract)
Purpose

The position is responsible for providing administration, oversight, and service support to Inforce policy service requests. The incumbent will also resolve problems and, as needed, ensure all required documentation is received and that business is in good order, and monitor and address any insurance licensing requirements.

Accountabilities
  • Provides in-force administrative support to advisor teams, SICs, ICs, and AISAs. This includes managing service requests/changes of in-force policies; helping advisors obtain and complete applicable forms; updating the policy records in Centralize; resolving administrative problems on Inforce business; distributing policy statements, reminders, and notices; responding to general policy inquiries; managing Agent of Record (AOR) requests and re-assignment of policies; and helping to facilitate premium payments.
  • Manages the claims process for life insurance and living benefit policies. This includes consulting with advisor teams; providing the necessary documentation and guidance on requirements; following the claim through to settlement; facilitating the payments; and documenting the status of claims in Centralize.
  • Acts as a relationship manager on insurance administration issues for assigned region. This includes being a key resource for advisors, SICs, ICs, AISAs, that provides direction on administrative matters; proactively identifying and escalating issues; and keeping everyone apprised of any developments or updates around business processing.
  • Champions a client-driven culture to deepen client relationships and leverage broader Bank relationships, systems, and knowledge.
  • Understands how the Bank’s risk appetite and risk culture should be considered in day-to-day activities and decisions.
  • Actively pursues effective and efficient operations of their respective areas in accordance with Scotiabank’s Values, its Code of Conduct, and the Global Sales Principles, while ensuring the adequacy, adherence to and effectiveness of day-to-day business controls to meet obligations with respect to operational, compliance, AML/ATF/sanctions and conduct risk. Dimensions

Supporting approx. 40 Sr. ICs and ICs along with other Scotia Wealth Management field staff, which includes over 70 specialist professionals and over 800 relationship managers across the business lines.

Education / Experience
  • High school diploma or higher
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in Life Insurance Industry or Financial Services
  • LLQP, LOMA Designations are assets
  • Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office
  • Effective communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Knowledge of Insurance carrier websites, Email communication and Internet
  • Self-motivation and attention to detail
  • Good organizational and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to take initiative, prioritize and work well with minimal direction and multi-task.
