Job summary

Velocity Truck Centres Edmonton West is seeking an Inside Parts (Heavy Duty) Salesperson to provide centralized parts sales support and technical expertise to the OPS team. You will engage customers, process orders, and help grow parts revenue in a fast-paced environment.

You will build relationships, upsell parts and services, handle inquiries, and ensure accurate order fulfilment from placement to delivery while maintaining high service standards.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Minimum 5 years heavy duty truck parts experience.
• Minimum 5 years direct sales experience with proven closing successes.
• Basic computer knowledge and MS Office proficiency.
• Excellent customer service and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and in a team.

Responsibilities

• Conduct outbound sales calls to solicit additional parts revenue from house accounts.
• Handle overflow of incoming parts sales calls from Canadian regions.
• Identify customer needs and provide solutions to meet expectations.
• Answer inquiries regarding transactions and sales history.
• Upsell parts and services where opportunities arise.
• Stay informed on new parts, features and applications to guide customers.
• Source parts via available resources to match customer needs.

Position Overview:

Reporting directly to the Customer Experience Manager, the Inside Parts Sales position is responsible for providing centralized parts sales support and technical expertise to assist our Outside Parts Sales (OPS) team. Strong problem-solving, organizational and communication skills are essential to this role as is the ability to work in a fast-paced, customer service-oriented environment.

Principal Responsibilities:

• Conducts outbound sales phone calls on house accounts to solicit additional parts revenue
  Builds and sends out specials, including ICR (Inner Circle Rewards) promotions, to house account holders viaoutbound sales calls
• Handles overflow of incoming parts sales calls from all Canadian regions
• Proactively identifies and understands parts needs through effective engagement with customers, ensuring appropriate solutions and services are delivered to meet or exceed their expectations
• Handles customer inquiries regarding all matters pertaining to transaction and sales history
• Sells additional parts and services by recognizing opportunities to up-sell
• Stays informed of new parts, product features, applications etc. and efficiently uses and applies this knowledge in communicating timely and relevant information to customers
• Conducts research and utilizes available resources to identify and source parts that are appropriate to the customer's specific needs
• Manages customer transactions from order placement through to fulfillment, ensuring accurate processing, timely communication, and proactive resolution of issues throughout the process
• Routes calls to appropriate resource if needed
• Documents all call information according to standard operating procedures

Required Qualifications:

• High school diploma or the equivalent
• A minimum of 5 years heavy duty commercial truck parts experience
• A minimum of 5 years direct sales experience, including proven success in generating and closing sales
• Basic computer knowledge and experience using standard applications including Microsoft Office Suite
• Excellent customer service skills
• Proven ability to take initiative and perform effectively both independently and as part of a team
• Demonstrated proficiency in data entry, typing, word processing skills, and general office/clerical functions
