Job summary

Bayshore HealthCare is seeking a Pharmacy Assistant to support pharmacists in compounding, dose preparation, and dispensing within a regulated environment. You will process prescriptions, manage inventory, and ensure accurate patient and billing data entry in the Kroll system.

This role involves working in a fast-paced setting, adhering to USP 797 guidelines, and collaborating with the pharmacy team to maintain high standards of patient care and safety.

Qualifications

• Completion of High School diploma.
• CCAPP Accreditation as a Dispensary Assistant preferred.
• Specialized aseptic technique training is an asset.
• Knowledge of USP 797 and NAPRA standards.
• Ability to remain calm and effective under pressure.
• Familiarity with Kroll Dispensing software is an asset.

Responsibilities

• Maintain Federal, Provincial, and Local regulations, accrediting body standards, and Bayshore Policies and Procedures.
• Schedule patient medication orders for preparation and dispensing.
• Prepare required infusion supplies for delivery of medication.
• Enter prescriptions into the prescription software (Kroll) for filling/billing.
• Refill medications through the prescription software (Kroll).
• Preparation and labeling of medications in accordance with regulatory requirements.
• Order, receive and store medications and supplies correctly.
• Perform physical inventories and maintain dispensing records.
• Communicate with clients, their agents, staff and medical professionals.
• Participate in performance improvement and quality assurance activities.
