Bayshore HealthCare is seeking a Pharmacy Assistant to support pharmacists in compounding, dose preparation, and dispensing within a regulated environment. You will process prescriptions, manage inventory, and ensure accurate patient and billing data entry in the Kroll system.
This role involves working in a fast-paced setting, adhering to USP 797 guidelines, and collaborating with the pharmacy team to maintain high standards of patient care and safety.
JOB SUMMARY The Pharmacy Assistant is responsible for different technical tasks delegated by the Pharmacist, Compounding Specialist, Pharmacy Supervisor, or Infusion Pharmacy Manager as per Bayshore Delegation of Controlled Acts policy and Ontario College of Pharmacists Delegation of Controlled Acts policy. The technical tasks delegated by the compounding specialist are in accordance with the appropriate supervision protocol and appropriate quality control measures and are related to sterile-preparation compounding with the appropriate training, using a formal delegation process that complies with the requirements of the Ontario College of Pharmacists. The Pharmacy Assistant aids in the processing of the prescriptions by accurately order entering all relevant patient, medication and billing information and prioritizing the sequence with which they are completed. They prepare infusion and TPN medications following USP 797 Guidelines. They also process, prepare, and bill orders as well as participate in inventory management. The Pharmacy Assistant directly reports to the Pharmacy Supervisor and ultimately reports to the Pharmacy Manager.
