Qualifications

  • Currently enrolled in an architectural design technology, interior design, urban planning or related post secondary diploma co‑op program.
  • Basic knowledge of accessible design and understanding of barriers in built environments for people with disabilities.
  • Experience using Google Workspace or equivalent applications.
  • Ability to read architectural plans and extract observations.

Responsibilities

  • Help deliver infrastructure accessibility actions focusing on facility assessments, checklists and construction guidelines.
  • Assist planning and hosting staff learning sessions and accessibility awareness events.
  • Support project reviews to ensure accessibility standards are met.
  • Provide day‑to‑day administrative and technical assistance for accessibility projects.
  • Maintain and refine accessibility assessment tools and field checklists.
  • Perform hands‑on accessibility assessments of City facilities.
  • Organize and upload field assessment data and summary reports to the digital dashboard.

Job Number: 561702 temporary full-time positions for 4 months intended specifically for students enrolled in an architectural design technology, interior design, urban planning or related co-op or equivalent post-secondary work experience diploma program. Other education programs with a work experience component may also be considered.
