Job summary

Affirm is seeking an Engineering Manager to lead the Infra Foundations team, owning the roadmap and operational health as we scale globally. You will mentor infrastructure engineers, drive reliability, and align priorities with security and platform goals.

This role emphasizes ownership, collaboration, and engineering excellence, with a focus on AWS-based foundations, IaC workflows, and scalable automation. Remote-first with Canada-wide eligibility.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of software or infrastructure engineering experience.
• 2+ years of engineering management experience.
• Experience leading engineering teams in infrastructure/platform domains.
• Strong background in cloud-native infrastructure (AWS preferred).
• Experience with IaC and automation that other teams depend on.

Responsibilities

• Define and drive a multi-quarter roadmap for Infra Foundations with focus on reliability and business impact.
• Lead and mentor a team of infrastructure engineers, owning hiring and career growth.
• Partner with engineering leadership to align Infra Foundations priorities with goals.
• Own AWS provisioning, VPC networking, and IAM access for foundational layer.
• Develop automation frameworks for provisioning and teardown of complex stacks using IaC rails.
• Manage operational programs like quota management, AMI patching, and Ansible-based config mgmt.
• Establish SLAs for IAM requests, quota alerts, and incident response.
• Collaborate with Security on least-privilege access and governance.
• Promote self-service tooling and knowledge sharing across teams.
