Job summary

Jobgether seeks a Senior Software Engineer focusing on reliability, infrastructure, and tooling in Canada. You will build scalable, observable systems for real-time and AI workloads, working with product teams to enable self-serve reliability and reduce bottlenecks.

You’ll design incentives for resilience, contribute to incident response, and evolve internal tooling and operating practices in a globally distributed environment. This is a remote role with world-class engineers.

Qualifications

• Strong experience building and operating non-trivial production applications.
• Significant experience with Kubernetes or equivalent container orchestration.
• Deep understanding of Linux internals and networking.
• Proven use of observability, monitoring, logging tooling to diagnose problems.
• Experience operating large-scale, globally distributed systems.
• Ability to respond to complex production incidents and implement durable fixes.
• Experience with open-source infrastructure technologies such as Kafka or ClickHouse.
• Strong systems-thinking and collaboration with partner teams.
• Pragmatic approach balancing delivery with reliability and cost.
• Nice to have data engineering, global Layer 3 networking, real-time media.

Responsibilities

• Ramp up on a complex global architecture with distributed databases and Kubernetes.
• Design and ship reliability-focused work in production codebases.
• Build internal tooling to enable product teams to operate reliable workloads.
• Partner with product teams to ensure reliability, security, maintainability.
• Develop observability capabilities and actionable signals.
• Participate in on-call rotation and incident response.
• Investigate system-level problems across distributed infrastructure.
• Improve configuration management and reduce technical debt.
• Contribute to architectural discussions and long-term scalability.
• Support demanding workloads including real-time media and secure compute.
