Job summary

Saskatoon Community Clinic is seeking a qualified IT professional to implement, operate and maintain computer-based and telephone systems across its Saskatoon community clinics. You will provide technical end-user support at all clinical sites and coordinate hardware and software upgrades with outside vendors as required.

  • Two years minimum in a highly integrated network environment (preferably in a multidisciplinary health care facility).

  • Strong knowledge of computers, networks and protocols.
  • Analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to make sound decisions and prioritize in a complex environment.

Job description

Employer Name: Saskatoon Community Clinic

Contact Name: Director of Human Resources

37.5 hours per week. Daytime hours but will involve working evenings and weekends, as required. All clinic locations.

CORE FUNCTION

Responsible for the implementation, operation and maintenance of computer-based and telephone systems at the Saskatoon Community Clinics. Provides technical support to end-users at all clinical sites.

DUTIES
  • Researches and resolves technology problems.
  • Performs regular system maintenance as scheduled/required.
  • Coordinates and manages hardware and software upgrades utilizing outside vendors as needed.
  • Monitors and evaluates application software and data.
  • Monitors network performance and system applications.
  • Ensures backup and recovery procedures are established, performed and regularly tested.
  • Creates procedure, training and support documents.
  • Moves and installs computer equipment.
  • Provides guidance, training and technical support to staff.
  • Troubleshoot complex hardware and software problems.
  • Recommends changes for improved workflow.
  • Ensures database integrity.
  • Facilitates telecommunication sessions as needed.
  • Develops and documents project plans, procedures and training/support manuals.
QUALIFICATIONS
  • Computer Systems Technology diploma.
  • Minimum of two years experience working in a highly integrated network environment; ideally a multidisciplinary health care facility.
  • Demonstrated communication skills with the ability to work with end-users with various levels of competency.
  • Advanced programming skills.
  • Advanced program/project management skills.
  • Knowledge and compatibility with the philosophy and policies of CHSA.
  • Demonstrates strong interpersonal and collaborative communication skills and attitude.
  • Advanced knowledge of computers, networks and protocols.
  • Sound decision-making and prioritization in a complex work environment with conflicting demands.
  • Research and organizational skills.
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • A valid Criminal Record Check is required.
