Job summary

Conestoga College is seeking a Temporary Part-Time Educational Assistant to support students with disabilities at the Doon Campus in Kitchener. The role requires on-site work 24 hours per week, Monday to Friday, between 8:00am and 7:00pm, with schedule subject to notice.

Qualifications

• Two-year diploma in Disability Services, Child and Youth Care, Developmental Services Worker, Personal Support Worker or related field.
• Minimum one year of practical experience supporting individuals with disabilities in educational, community, healthcare, or related setting.
• Familiarity with accessibility legislation and inclusive practices is an asset.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise sound judgment.

Responsibilities

• Provide academic accommodation support services (note-taking, scribing, transcription, reading assistance, research support, classroom setup).
• Assist students with accessing and using accommodation-related equipment and assistive technologies; provide instruction and troubleshooting.
• Orient students to campus facilities and accessible resources to promote independence and success.
• Maintain records related to accommodation services; ensure confidentiality and privacy.
• Collaborate with faculty and Student Accessibility Services to coordinate supports in a timely manner.
• Monitor effectiveness of accommodations and communicate concerns or recommendations to staff.

Education
