Job summary

Fairmont Château Laurier in Ottawa, Ontario, welcomes applications for an In-Room Dining Server. You will work with the Outlets Leadership Team to deliver consistent, friendly service, assist guests with menu items, and maintain full knowledge of beverage lists.

This role requires previous culinary and Food & Beverage service experience, strong bilingual communication, and a team‑oriented, calm approach under pressure. Certification such as Smart Serve is preferred.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in the culinary field.
• Previous Food & Beverage service experience.
• Previous Point of Sale System experience preferred.
• Excellent communication skills in both official languages.
• Strong interpersonal and problem solving abilities.
• Highly responsible & reliable.
• Ability to work well under pressure in a fast paced environment.
• Ability to work cohesively as part of a team.
• Ability to focus attention on guest needs, remaining calm and courteous at all times.
• Smart Serve Certification.

Responsibilities

• Consistently offer professional, friendly and engaging service
• Assist guests regarding menu items in an informative and helpful way
• Have full knowledge of all beverage lists
• Deliver food and beverage in a timely and accurate manner
• Pick up orders efficiently from the kitchen
• Check outgoing orders for quality and accuracy of set up
• Have full knowledge of all menu items, garnishes, contents and preparation methods
• Follow outlet policies, procedures and service standards
• Follow all safety and sanitation policies when handling food and beverage
• Other duties as assigned
